Clichie approx 7yr old Homed
Clichie is in kennels in Chessington Surrey after his owner was taken into hospital to remove one of his legs. He is now up for rehoming.
John went along this afternoon to meet him as he had not been out of his kennel for 6 weeks because of his nervousness towards the kennel staff. After about 15 mins he allowed John to put a slip lead on him and take him into a grass run where over the next 45 mins he trusted him to play with his ears, feet and even give him a paw, be it his left or right paw which ever John asked for. At no time did John feel threatened, he is a pussy cat!
Here he is with one of the kennel staff and John.
For anyone needing to know more about John's meeting with him please contact:
John on 01932 571268 or
Bess from German Shepherd dog rescue on 01428 672238 re rehoming .
Sally from Garbos gsd rescue visits the kennels and will keep us informed on his progress.

Re: Clichie approx 7yr old Homed
The staff at the kennels are now walking him a couple of times each day and have become his friends ,When i went to see him he never once growled or was a threat to me all he did was to whine because of his initial fear of me.

Glad to hear that Clichie is doing well now, it must have been horrific for him suddenly being put into kennels after being in a loving home. Fingers crossed that someone comes forward quickly to offer this lovely boy the loving new home he so richly deserves, preferably before Christmas.

From Sally.
HI John
Claire and Josh at Chessington get him out in the run twice a day. Jane and I have spent time with him in the run on two occasions, the first time he was quite apprehensive and the second time he seemed more confident. He is a big lad but a bit wasted on the back end and drawn in on the stomach which is probably due to the fact that he has had no excercise for some months. He seems to be a lovely boy and once he is a bit more used to Jane and I we will start walking him on the days we go to kennels. He wanted to say hello to my bitch Tess but she barked at him and he seemed quite upset by this, I think he may be OK with other dogs, which would be a plus. When we know more about him I will let you know.
I have attached a picture Jane took of him last week, he looks a bit sad to me.
By the way he sits when told and gives his paw in the most gentle way, practically stroking your hand.

Clichie has gone to his new home. His new owner, Pat from Camberley, phoned John and said he is very good natured and started earning his keep by chasing the squirrels away in the garden that dig up Pat's flowers and shrubs.
