Duke 5/6yr old boy Homed
Duke will be coming over to john in Chertsey Surrey from Ireland on Thursday 14th July.
Duke has lived a very happy life in his home for the past 3 years. However, due to a very serious illness with one of his owners, there is no option except now he needs to be rehomed. His owners want him to have all the walks and activities they can no longer manage themselves.
Duke is used to being walked a number of times daily - he is good meeting other dogs & people. While he has not lived with children, he is also good with kids but I would strongly suggest that if Duke's new home has children then teenagers only. He is housetrained and good in the car. He is used to company daytime and must be homed where someone is there daytime & where he will be an integral part of an active and loving home.
He has not lived with cats, or with other dogs - as he lived in the city he was always walked on lead .

There's been a slight change of plans with Duke's transport - he is now arriving
on Thursday 28th July not Thursday 14th

Hi John,
Duke is on his way to Donal.- I took a couple of photos of him while he was here this morning - he is gorgeous,
big fellow probably 45kgs, little bit nervous meeting new people but considering his whole world
has disappeared that's expected. He chilled quickly , took him for a walk & sat with him and he is
very calm.
Only just starting to go grey around muzzle so prob. about 4/5
He is fully up to date with vax they got him done in June & follow up in July so no more needed till June 2012.
Absolutely stunning dog in peak condition.
My son collected him for me from his home this morning & his owers were very upset, I have promised them
to let them know when he is homed so I would like to be in touch with his new owners when adopted
if that's ok with you -
Cancel the "cats" - he is a bit too interested in cats...lol
He is nervous of sudden movements - but totally calm when you're calm with him.

Jason http://s10.zetaboards.com/biggsd/topic/7348199/1/
Duke is a dog to die for, good on lead be it in my garden ,good recall by voice or waving to him, other than a bit wary of meeting new people as he did when first meeting my neighbours,as I type he is stretched out behind me asleep,a couch potato I suspect. Adog that someone who has never had a shepherd would handle easily with some guideance.
And with Jason the Rottie.
