Shaya - 15 months Female - sable Homed
Shaya has been brought to Vigil after RSPCA & dog warden involvement. It had been reported that she was being left outside with no shelter. When the RSPCA and Dog Warden visited, she was in the house but the people said they didn't want her and wanted her out as soon as possible. The Dog Warden arranged for them to bring her to Vigil.
It would appear that she has not been walked much and is wary of people and dogs and everything that is new to her.
She is very nervous of strangers, but clearly is looking for comfort and security. She bonded quickly with one volunteer but remained suspicious of a couple of others.
With a little more socialising she will blossom.

Fingers crossed that this lovely girl finds someone to offer her a proper loving home quickly.
Re: Shaya - 15 months Female - sable Homed
Shaya went into foster over Christmas, here is what Nat has to say about her:
The lovely Shaya has settled in very quickly. She is sooo pretty...sable with medium length hair.
She is very fond of her food as she probably didn't have much appetite being in kennels - she is catching up now!
She has been getting on fine with Mabrouk, following him around in the garden and is I think quite happy to have a doggy companion.
She is very affectionate and very quickly let me stroke her, brush her, handle her. So she is quite quick in giving her trust. She has been following me around the house and seems so happy to be in a home environment.
Even though she has been a bit nervous meeting up people while she was in kennels initially, she got friendly with the staff very quickly.
I think she just needs to be used to get out in the world, to be walked outside and meet/see people and dogs.
Poor thing had not been walked and has not been treated very well in her previous home.
She is really a lovely dog, very loving and clever and will make some lucky people very happy I think.
She has lived with children. She is not cat friendly as she barks and wants to chase them.
She has been mixed with a few dogs and was ok with them.
I hope she can find another home very quickly as I can only have her til the end of the week. OR if somebody can foster her from the end of the week please let Vigil know! (as it would be very sad to have to put her back in kennels).
