Hi John
Many thanks John for your help with the lovely Ronnie, details as follows:
Ronnie won my heart the moment he stepped off the transport from Ireland, he leant up against my legs and then rolled over on his back for a cuddle - a big teddy bear!
He was an unclaimed stray in the Irish pound and was taken out and put into a foster home before coming over here. His fosterers sent a glowing report on Ronnie. He is about 2 years old and is a GSD X.
Ronnie is excitable when you first meet him but soon calms down and is a very sociable guy; he loves people and is great with children. His favorite pastime is to lie on his back and have his tummy rubbed, this he relishes with a look of total bliss in his eyes!
Ronnie is a tall dog and was strong on the lead but has shown us that he is very receptive to training and has responded well using a body harness. Within the kennels environment Ronnie has been very good with other dogs and has shown a playful side with them but with a new owner he had become protective of them after a few days and would bark and lung at other dogs on their walks. So sadly he has found himself back at kennels. He needs a home with someone who will work with him to overcome this problem. In all other ways he is the most adorable dog and although he does need a bit of training in some areas, he is great in the house, and will play ball with the kids until they tire! Ronnie is neutered, vaccinated and chipped.
Ronnie has so much love and fun to give and is feeling sad and lonely in kennels and really missing having a family life.
In Ireland Ronnie did live in foster with children of 3, 7 and 9 years.
At present he is in the Surrey area.
