Prince VERY distressing pictures now homed

Post  Sheba'sMum on Mon Feb 13, 2012 2:42 am

Prince was found in Lower Earley, Reading in an awful state.
This is what the person that transported him to Vigil said about him:

I went to the kennels this afternoon to pick up a dog for John, whilst there Sue introduced me to Prince I was absolutely shocked at the state he was in (DISTRESSING PICTURES BELOW). I walked Prince around the paddock and despite all that has happened to him you could not meet a nicer dog, he has such a sweet nature and even managed to wag his tail a few times, he didn't bark at any of the other dogs he was just interested in exploring. He is very under weight and has a lot of hair loss.

PICTURES BELOW

For further information, or if interested in offering Prince a foster/forever home please contact:

Sue Gibbons 01444 453302

or Mike Price on 01932 243686

Sue has said that he is being well looked after in kennels but would like to see him in a foster home, IDEALLY within 30 miles of Guildford. If you can help this poor baby please call the numbers above.

Some pics of Prince in his foster home:
Prince has certainly made himself at home

Off to the vets

With his toy, Gerry said he was flinging it all around as though he'd never seen one before

All tired out after his bath

Total contentment

One of the things the vet said was that prince is a young dog approx a year old and he was probably born with this condition.

An update on how Prince is doing from Gerry his foster mum.....
well he has been here for 4 days now,you would think he had been here forever. Very gentle boy, he is showing signs of wanting to play with my lot which is good, he has started cleaning himself another good sign. When we went to the vets, the vet diagnosed Prince with "Demodex mange" this is passed down from his mother and is not contagious, treatment for this is Cydectin. Prince also has an ear infection Aurizon to treat this, and last but not least he is being bathed twice weekly with Malaseb, he is booked in to be nuetered tomorrow and have his nails done.

Guess what? Prince is staying with Gerry, he's such a wonderful dog she couldn't let him go.

Now happily settled into the pack , this boy cannot look any prouder what a transformation .
